Sounds like you have a problem concentrating, in which case self-study might now be for you. I find I do better if I'm forced to learn or I need to complete work by a deadline. So I took classes in Japanese in school. Maybe you can sign up for classes if you're really serious about it? I mean it costs money too, so I dunno if you'd want to do that.......
