Anyone succeeds at learning Japanese and learned it because of anime?

The way they talk in anime isn't really how people talk irl, like at all... Don't use anime to learn how to speak japanese unless you wanna sound cringey as hell.   reply

Long time ago I studied basic Japanese hard to watch anime without subtitles ,along my journey I learned katakana and hiragana ,but gave up on kanji since what's the point if I don't live in Japan lol ,basically now I forgot all Japanese letters but I would remember them if I studied again , and I now understand Japanese without subtitles ,so sinc......   reply

i actually learned how to speak japanese from anime LMAO, i then learned how to write and the grammar rules and all that stuff. たのしかった！！   reply

I’m in middle school and plan on taking japanese in high school. Kanji I’ve heard it’s the hardest I have pronunciation down (not really) I know lots of phrases cause of anime and can sometimes understand the rough meaning when someone says something but I’m still learning.   reply
