Fictional Stories are not preachers of morality... so do not be shocked and be disappointed that what a person mostly reads do not reflect on the person's views and opinion of issues in the real world.
Ex: murder, lgbtq+, pedophilia, sexual assualt, sexual predation, rape, being a open pervert.. Etc..
