yes, bl is fiction but the main reason why it was made (in Japan at least) was to help mlm not be discriminated against, the whole LGBTQ movement in japan was heavily impacted by bl, fujjoshis, fudanshis, etc. so when you take that context a lot of it is based off of real people that are already heavily hated on so having a lot of misinterpretation...... reply
