I'm new to learning Japanese myself. I highly recommend immersing yourself in the language what ways you can. Specifically, immerse yourself in ways that involve as many senses as possible. Here are the free sites: I found this site recently and it helps a lot if you come across some difficult grammar. http://www.imabi.net/ And like Kodoku mentioned, that grammar guide is also an excellent learning source. Learning Japanese isn't as difficult as you'd think. In some ways, it's actually easier than English, seeing as the grammar follows a set pattern. Here are some of the main sites I use to help me.
