I love resilient misfits, survivors, tough cookies characters that have dealt with rough shit and moved on, actively earning their happy ending.
In my eyes a character is more lovable if its flawed, broken by life to some degree, fragile yet strong. Ii really dig hurt and comfort plots, even more so if the hurt is not comming from the same person ......
