Cishets "fetishizing and comsuming lgbtq+ content" and "being a fucking dick to real lgbtq+ people" go hand in hand much better than you'd like to think.
Most homophobes don't think they're homophobic and nearly all fetishizers don't think they're fetishizing. Not hard to wind up being both.
