The target audience for yaoi is women, actually I'm pretty sure yaoi is a subgenre of shoujo. Bara's target audience is gay men. But of course, that's just who it's marketed to. Just like how shounen is 'for young boys', etc. It's just the target demographic, you can like whatever genre you want.
