Male fans of yaoi are called "fudanshi" - yes, they exist enough to have their own group name. Some of them are gay, some are straight. A lot of yaoi/shounen ai is romance at heart - people who like romance (and aren't bothered by gender) will read it.   1 reply

They do exist! Just not as many as females and they tend to hide it more. I'm a gay guy and i read yaoi. So far i've not met another guy that reads yaoi :/ I do get a little fussy with yaoi that others (mainly females) would love. Such as drama's, emotional crap, guys draw in ridiculous ways (excessively tall/big handed semes, or tiny/fragile/femi......   reply

A couple of my straight guy friends along with a gay guyfriend of mine have read it before/read it currently. I dont really thing that gender has an impact on the story, i just think reading a manga relies a lot on the art style and story-telling. If its good in those factors practically anyone can enjoy it.   reply

Well... yeah? It's a story about gay men, so obviously us gay/bi men would like it too. Not sure if I've ever heard of any straight men reading yaoi, so maybe they do secretly.   1 reply
