Bc people have feelings and anyone would feel hurt when they suddenly get mocked and ridiculed by people they don't know, being unable to do ANYTHING about it bc its the internet, especially if it's in mass numbers. Never actually had it happen to me but like if it did I'd still feel upset despite knowing that yes it's just some stranger online and the internet can be brutal but i would still expect people to have morals wherever they are like cmon have some basic decency. I wish somebody hated me so much online that they thought about me 24/7, it’d be nice to know someone is thinking about you so much, even if it’s in a negative way(personally).
