I just randomly lost interest a few months ago after being into this stuff for nearly a decade (apart from when I developed severe anhedonia a while back). I made a post about it a few weeks ago. Don't know what could have triggered it. I miss looking forward to updates for my favorite manga and manhwa. It sucks that they've all updated and I just don't care to read them, even though I was so invested in them before. Nothing has replaced this activity so I just spend my days scrolling Reddit.
I miss BL so much. Please, brain, take pity on me and let me actually feel like reading it again
If anyone else has gone through something like this before and wants to share their own experience, please do. Should I just give up on ever getting back into manga/manhwa and find new hobbies?
It happened with me too, I had been reading so many manhwas and mangas back to back that I started finding them really boring, but then somehow I got into Korean web novels and Danmei (Chinese bl web novel). I don’t really gaf about reading much anymore. Manga is still superior to anything else, but my focus has been turned to a show instead of any book. Arcane is what makes me happy now and it’s what I like. I don’t why you think there’s anything bad with not being interested in something anymore, it’s just a part of life. I've lost interest in anime and manga before but never felt fomo. usually, when I lose interest, I just switch to something different, like watching k-drama or a western show, reading novels, or doing another hobby. then, after some time, I start getting interested in it again. reply
I lost interest in webtoons for a minute as well. I was obsessed with reading them and then just stopped. It only lasted for like 2 years though, and then I kind of got back into them but not as much as before. I would say either try giving manga/manwha a chance again, like just read stuff sometimes. But also try to find other hobbies you can enjoy...... reply
