Hey guys, could u lend me your moral compass for a bit and help answer a question of mine?
So like I love shounen manga and enjoy shipping characters if I feel like it could be legit.
And when I really ship a ship, I'll admit, I like to read some smexy content about that ship (not anything morally fucked up. Something that seems legit, cannon, romantic, emotional, and moral)
So u know how a lot of shounen is usually in a high school setting? I'm still okay and morally qualified to read smexy stuff with my ship as highschoolers, but knowing that I'm still going to enjoy shounen as I grow older and shipping characters…
I of course feel greatly uncomfortable imagining reading smexy stuff of those hypothetical ships as highschoolers when I'm older…
But when imagining me imagining those hypothetical characters I ship, when I'm older (past 19) as adults and reading smexy stuff about them as adults (24+ age), I don't feel uncomfortable.
Now here comes the question…
Is that morally okay?

I think its morally "odd", even if u age them up cuz honestly, people who make and consume shit that sexualizes minors is weird esp if they're grown, like ewwww.
If u ship them idrc but if its sexualizing like actual porn then that's mad weird

I think its morally ok to an extent, its not like ur only reading porn of these characters. Not to mention you grew up with these ships, it’s not like u searched them out only after being an adult and only to get off. I think it’s kinda morally grey but is genuinely ok. You don’t have to be “morally qualified” to ship stuff. I’ll read my ships at whatever age I am and I don’t feel guilty but Im not really into shounen. Ship what you want since it’s inevitable that youll get older while the characters just stay the same.

I mean this is a mistake that I committed at 20 years old, I should have never read mikayuu and Neptunia X Noir smut lol. seriously, but finding doujinshi that don't have sex is so damn hard, anyway I'm not committing that mistake again.
