Yah, a lot of BL has become formulaic (but literature in general has been about chasing trends for a while now). My guess is that it's because manhwa artists (at least those that use online reading platforms) depend so much on popularity to ensure they get a decent income, so going for the type of story with the same type of characters and the same......
