Whats a story that had great potential but then got ruined? How did it get ruined and what do you think wouldve kept it going?

I forgot to add but literally any story that goes the rape route or has a glass figurine for character/world building cause it just looks like something they pulled out of their drafts without actually putting in any effort reply
