People are forgetting the entire point of scanlation/piracy. PLS READ!

The influx of paywalled content is really starting to get on my nerves, especially when it comes to PIRATED content, and mind you piracy is what? ILLEGAL. No because i cant be the only one genuinely tired of scanlation groups in both the manga+manhwa+manhua and novel communities locking future chapters behind what is essentially crypto.

This is especially noticeable in korean novels on NU, there are few select groups i wont be naming that are picking up a lot of novels, releasing a few chapters while locking the rest behind a paywall. Now if you know anything about scans you would know about sniping; the unspoken rule that if a group starts working on a series, another group is not allowed to release chapters for it.

This has caused an issue where these groups release a few chapters for free to attract readers while paywalling the rest, promising that the paywalled chapters will be released in due time, doesn't sound too bad right? Except for if it wasn't so f***ing rigged. The release date of the locked chapters is random and inconsistent, the chapters are clearly machine translated and not proofread, whats the worst is that its literally more expensive than buying it straight from the author.
SCANLATION IS ILLEGAL and always has been, the point is for people to gain access to stuff that is locked behind a paywall not for it to be paywalled.
What's funny is that these groups are doing this to korean novels that are literally N1 target of DMCAs (copy right laws) and Cease and desists directly issued by the publishing companies.
Like no i am not going to pay 10 dollars for 3 chapters, release the shit or dont, if you paywall it i am not scared to report this to publishing companies to have it shut down all together.

TLDR: copy paste ask AI to summarize (my cat btw not an ai generated image)
