Depends on how much the art reflects the artist and the effects of said art. Some art can be harmful propaganda or a huge influence in media, and some art continues to harm victims of said creators too. In what sense? There's multiple ways you can interpret this question. In terms of a work's merit or enjoyability factor, I would say yes. I believe that once it's out of the artist's hands, you can read and interpret it as you wish. You do not owe the artist a "right" interpretation. What you make of it is yours alone.
