Hating a character
I am obviously not unfamiliar with hating a character, but when I do, there will be always someone who has to say that "I just don't understand their character" and I "lack media literacy". Which is to say, I do understand their character, but that doesn't mean I have to LIKE them. I would understand their experiences, their backstory, their relationships with the other characters, and that wouldn't change the fact that I still hate them. It's not like I spread misinformation either, so why do they suddenly act like I personally offended a fictional character by not liking them. And God forbid I criticize the character.

REAL! They always say this when I say I don’t like Jinshi from apothecary diaries I find his character unlikable and annoying and somehow that means I don’t understand he’s complex or recently what they love to say is a was a good man for his time like ok??? like I’m supposed to hate him less just because he is somewhat a good person and not taking advantage of Maomao like other men would at that time. I can still hate his ass.
