White person here. For me I definitely have a ton of guilt with what my many ancestors have done and feel very ashamed to be white. I'm not white so I can't say this is 100% true but I feel like with a lot of white people feel insecure about their privilege because they see it as bad thing instead of a fact of life. Because their privilege makes them uncomfortable. For once in history they're being considered the out-group instead of the in-group because being a minority is cool now and most places consist of minorities.
