i was just thinking about this a while ago too lol. it's just so interesting that people will "forgive" the ml for abuse, rape, etc as long as they have a chase arc but cheating for some reason is unacceptable. i think part of it is because readers tend to project themselves onto the mc/bottom, so it's easy (if not satisfyingly) to see someone grov......
