Honestly the only advice i can give is to ONLY gets pets when you are stable enough in your life, they're hella expensive to take care of (food, medication, like vaccines and especially if they are little, they'll literally feed on anything they find) they definitely are a source of comfort but it's only if you're also able to take care of them.
