For the e*ployed, this is an ongoing meme from one of those old cartoons/drawings that would try to prove some deep thought-provoking messege. In this case, it was about a man trapped in a cell, that chooses bread over being free(key)
As an EMPLOYED person I don't get it because what does the bread represent? Then in my eyes it represents instant gratification and spending money on worthless things. Whether it's takeout or an item you don't need versus the key, representing, saving and investing, and finding a better career path, I suppose. 2 reply
PLEASE PLEASE LET ME RANT ABOUT THIS
bro im a really brainrotted person and ive also always been interested in philosophy, the image was NEVER about how that one comment says “choosing temporary pleasures over freedom” IT IS NOT A METAPHOR FOR THIS, its actually the complete opposite. the meme goes like- oh somebody gave a legit real answer and...... 1 reply
It kinda makes sense. I'm not employed but I don't use social media that much so I don't know the context, and of course it's better to be freed.
But for the human brain food will always be a top priority even over safety reply
