why people read things they know they won't like?

its the cringe curiosity and most of the time the moral superiority they satisfy whenever they read and comment on such content. It’s like engaging for the sake of arguing. Idk, sometimes I read something I know I'm gonna hate because I like angst, but at the same time I also like a good revenge arc.
