i've heard this from other parents, who swear it helped and changed their life. it's that container where you put soiled diapers in and it keeps the odor under control until disposal (i think they have one for reuseables too). she would definitely appreciate it!
also, you can't go wrong buying books of classic stories, like Guess How Much I Love ......
