I've literally only seen fried food like that at state fairs and they are meant as like gag foods. No one actually makes stuff like that to eat daily. Fried Shrimp is popular anywhere just like fried chicken is though so I'm not sure why that was shocking. And Fried pickles are common in the south, I've seen them at seafood restaurants here in Flor......   reply

I have no idea. We Americans (a lot of us anyway) just love oily and unhealthy shit ig. But these are foods you would get once in your life at a weird restaurant or a fair—most of us just stick to frying/breading meat lmao. I’ve never had or seen any of these myself   1 reply

Some of these, like fried shrimp, ( which originated in Korea.) didn't start in the USA, we just brought other places food's here. There's a reason for it being named the "UNITED" states of America.
