But then, not everyone thinks the way you have just said.
I think the most reason for people wanting to see the child like mpreg is prolly to see a men being able to get pregnant. I mean ofc they can adopt but it's omegaverse, and mpreg is the whole point of the genre.
Because as you know, the real world men society is very fragile..... They think carrying a baby in the womb for 8months is nothing. And that they think it's a gift that we should be thankful for bc it's only present in women.
The men take pregnancy process very lightly witout knwing what actually goes through in a women's body.
And honestly, it's a dream of every women to see a Real men get pregnant, see them go through the labour and suffer to finally let them know what we feel.

Honestly in a realistic BL story (for me idk about other), i don't give much thought on babies but sometime I just want to see a kid that looks like them. I mean Yeah adoption is available but might be because they want a child that looks like them.
Surrogate yeah, but there's a 50/50% chance that the baby will either resemble the women who carried the baby (because the couples are both men) or it will resemble the Egg's donor appearance. If lucky then it will resemble both the fathers but if unlucky it ain't gonna resemble them at all.
(Example could be the Chinese manhua "whose baby is it", the child didn't really resemble the actual father at all and had non-asian feature(bcoz the women carring the baby was not asian),only the habits of the other father because it was the other father who bought him up alone)
