Lets talk GMOs
Most people who avoid GMO products and protest against said products usually aren't very educated on what they are actually fighting for. Most don't even know what GMO means.
Genetically modifying crops helps for a better yield, resistance to diseases and insects, as well as inhancing taste. With GMOs, theres less of a need for insecticides and other chemicals, as the crop has already been bred to be strengthened against these things. So in the end, it seems to be beneficial for the environment as well.
So thats why I struggle to actually comprehend why people are against GMOs in the first place? Do they see it as unnatural? That seems hypocritical coming from people who use any sort of technology.
I mean, at least with Organic products you can somewhat understand where people are coming from. They have a reason, which is usually about protecting the environment from chemicals. (also unrelated, but most people tend to misunderstand and think organic products aren't fertilized at all. They are still fertilized, just usually with stool, bloodmeal, bonemeal, etc. take that as you will ig.)
Idk, I struggle to find any downsides with GMOs, but maybe im a bit biased since i was super into ag and FFA as a kid. Anyways but id like to hear someone elses opinion on this
