the "met in childhood" trope shouldve been over as soon as it was done. it was good the first time i read it. by the fifth, i wasnt so impressed.
you get to the penultimate chapters of something and the ml does something and suddenly out of nowhere its all "that smile.. i know you..!" and we're getting a flashback that could've been avoided entire......
