"Omniscient Reader: The Prophet" has a SHITTY DIRECTOR

I went into my seat thinking "it's not that bad?"

IT IS BAD. I have low expectations but damn.

It is so fucking bad because the only redeeming part of the movie is the acting. The actors are atleast decent in the acting and they got the emotions right.

THE CINEMATOGRAPHY HOWEVER screams "low budget" -- Like, the effects when the characters jump down? It looks like it was edited using a phone editing app. The fast movements transitioning to a stop? It was awkward as hell. The fight scenes would be decent if the camera knows how to showcase the scenes. It only knows how to showcase celebrities apparently -- you'd think of that when you see the angles that the camera goes in.

THE SCRIPT is also bad because you can practically rebut "that's not how that works!" when a scene happens. The ending is shit as fuck because it's been debunked in the novel (THAT IS IF THE DIRECTOR READ IT) and most of all, THE EVERYTHING THAT KIM DOKJA IS HAS BEEN SWEPT UNDER THE RUG AND WE GOT A CHARACTER WITH A SUBSTANCE NOT EVEN CLOSE TO WHAT WE ARE EXPECTING. We got an MC with a savior-complex instead.

THE FUCKING PROMOTIONS. They got some paid people screaming at the readers who criticized the movie for how shit it is (the readers are just saying facts) because apparently criticizing the movie = criticizing their favorite actor/idols (the Lee Minho fans to be specific). They kept screaming it's the best movie and then they'll talk trash to the people who says that it's not.

The people who promotes the movie also STOLE fan works like cosplay photo without the permission of the photo owner. The reason of the paid-people? "We are licensed to promote the movie. We have rights to promoting this movie therefore this photo can be used by us. We have rights." And the owner kept on protesting about it but they still kept it. Concerned netizens were supporting to report the post so it got removed by the site but apparently the promoters POSTED it AGAIN and kept on deleting the comments of protest.

OVERALL, the budget of the movie goes into paying the actors and the promoters. As for the essential things needed for the movie (storyline, cinematography, OSTs), the budget is so low AND IT SHOWS.

Now that I experienced it, I need to do a cleansing ritual like reading the manhwa and the doujins lmao (Can't forget the doujins)
