it feels like time goes so much faster now, like i open a story in the morning then boom the day is over;; but then i still want to read more and more manhwa slop;;;
when all i do is read manhwa (+ some youtube/twitch), i keep wanting to kill myself;;; and it's not like the slop is bad, but bc it's crowding out the time i need for actually enriching and life-building endeavors;; i don't go grocery shopping or renew my library card or find jobs to apply to or finish my art project or learn about climate action or clean my room because i spent all that time reading The Young Lord of House Finlanz and whatever the fuck else i'll forget in a year;
but i've tried to stop in the past and honestly haven't gotten great results;; limits on time, limits on designated hours, limits on days of the week, limits on number of chapters, cold turkey, leaving the laptop downstairs... i think the main thing i haven't tried yet is only reading outdoors or something (or with a shock collar ig)
i don't really know why i wrote this, i'm not looking for advice at all;; ig i just felt like venting;; this'll probably solve itself anyway so whatevs :3

You're just my opposite I only read yaoi and yuri stuff + no rapey stuff so that cut downs most of the books for me so unfortunately I'm having a hard time finding anything to read that suits my taste :(
I recognize myself in your situation. I was a bit like you at one point. I would read for days and feel like my life was pointless. Now it's okay. I don't have a magic formula. What worked for me was being addicted to work. I started my business in January, and since I work all day, I can soon earn a good salary. I work all day, and after dinner, I read or watch Netflix and play on my phone. Sometimes I don't feel like working and I keep reading, so I force myself to do tasks (I make checklists), and only after I'm done can I do whatever I want. I think of myself a bit like I'm both my parent and my child.
that sounds really good honestly, it makes me feel more hopeful;; i appreciate your response (and hope your business does well )
