college is bs

shabondama shabondama 2025-09-08 08:55:06 About school is stressful
freshman here, I've been getting by with subsidies and w my parents working their asses off. i can't take a part-time job bcs my college is high up in the mountains and 30mins away from the city (plus commuting everyday to get there costs greatly). I'm in nursing, and this college takes great pride in getting high percentage of passers in the nursing licensure exam. how do they do that? by implementing a policy that nursing students cannot get a grade lower than B- in their major subjects, and a failing GPA. Another one, irrelevant courses you're obliged to take. Have my majors taken in crash courses when available bcs I'm a dumbass who can't have majors more than two in one sem or else, guaranteed fail w all the minor courses wasting my energy and time.

Food. Food is expensive here. I considered becoming a working student inside campus but my parents are strongly against it (bcs doing so would mean i would have to graduate in eight years studying). Meal account rarely reaches the 21st of the month before they refill it whether u liked it or not. So when my meal acc is running low, I have my bfasts w a single onigiri, a biscuit on lunch, water or air for dinner. On Saturdays, I get one rice and one dish for bfasts (it's a form of self-reward atp), and I meet up w a friend who treats me for lunch.

I'm stressed out cs I'm hungry, tired, and pressured financially, academically, and w my responsibilities. I have to make it out of here, get a job so my parents can finally retire, and fund my younger brother's education and needs bcs my older brother's salary isn't even enough for him to survive on his own, much less support another.

Hey there, it seems like you are going through a lot right now and it makes perfect sense that you are stressed out, annoyed and upset about that. I really admire how you are worried for your family (wanting your parents to retire and funding your younger brother) even when you are exhausted and frustrated like this. It shows how much of a caring person you are. I'm sorry the only thing I can do as a fellow reader here is to encourage you like this.
I relate to you when you say you want to be financially stable. This might come off as a bit ridiculous, but the only way I've kept my hopes up for future is by imagining myself as how I want to be and lowkey manifesting it. Yes, it may not do anything, but atleast it makes me less stressful for the moment. (And it doesn't mean I'm not working towards my goal either) I can't guarantee it will work for everyone, but give it a try if you wish to.
Once again, you are a strong and brave person. I'm sure everything will work out for you.
Goodluck!! :)
