Getting re diagnosed my new diagnoses doesn’t make sense
I got redignosed and they’re trying to put me on Zoloft. I didn’t like my old diagnosis but I don’t agree with my new diagnoses because it doesn’t make sense as I don’t have any of the major symptoms only the overlapping symptoms from my old diagnosis
I also don’t want to be put on medication
Should I argue this ?

YES ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF!!
I would perhaps ask your therapist/doctor more questions if your concerned. its completely normal to have different feelings from your doctor and its practically their job to explain their viewpoint and decisions. I wouldn't stress the Zoloft thing, I take it, and atleast for me personally it doesn't do much but make me a bit calmer and more rational.
Ik Zoloft you’re not much of a risk of being an addict as taking addy
But it’s just my personal issues I was an ex drug addict I’m scared of getting addicted again so I’m scared of being put on meds but I’ll talk to my doctor
Yes, specially if they prescribed you something for it, cs that can worsen your symptoms of your actual diagnosis
Wrong medications can affect your well being overall
yes, please speak up. you could ask your psychiatrist to explain your diagnosis and why they diagnosed you with that if you didnt display the major symptoms.
i also understand the apprehension w meds i took them for a while but the side effects were awful and it made me so numb so i kinda stopped going to therapy. its great that youre seeking help.
you could discuss with your psychiatrist if the meds are an absolute necessity or if theres alternatives though i dont think they would suggest them unless necessary unfortunately.
if possible you could also get a second opinion.
Yes, i think so?
I have no experience whatsoever with therapy or getting diagnostics with anything, but if you feel something is wrong you should not hesitate to argue about your own health concerns.
Any good doctor wants their patient to trust and be comfortable in the given diagnostic, so explain your concerns and ask for, alternatives or re-diagnostics.
Is not like they can force you to buy and use the meds... right?
