So I saw in here that Danganronpa will have a new game, and I decided to check the subreddit. But didn't like my visit there instead. First, I was waiting for a new Danganronpa game for years, but this news was disappointing to me. I know I will get cooked on this one, but I was waiting for new characters and stories and stuff, not a retelling of the story of Danganronpa 2? I loved the characters of Danganronpa 2, especially Komaeda; he is my favorite character ever. But at the same time, I really think their story should have ended in DR3. I get it; a lot of games get remakes, but I don't know. After this one, I think it will be another multiple YEARS to get another game with other new characters, so that's why I don't like this news; developing games takes a lot of time. So I don't think we will get an original game anytime soon.
Anyway, I will still rant about the comments that I have seen there.
love his toxic yaoi fans? Come on, girl, you are acting like you did not get a whole season of Hinata X Nanami. Like, what? Also, as much as I like Komaeda and love the ship, and as a "yaoi girlie," no, I won't like Komaeda to be the protagonist. That would be so stupid, like, what?
For some reason people believe making Komaeda straight is the funniest shit ever in the new game, and they call it "the new plot twist," and they pray it happens. Like, the only guy he showed interest in is Hinata; him being bi and ending up with a woman is not a plot twist or "the funniest shit ever." Also, wishing him to be "straight" "because it's funny" is weird—how do people forget bisexuality exists? Can you explain to me how this is funny? Oh, right. to piss Komahina fans off? Again, how is this funny? funny except if you hate Komaeda being "gay"
Also, they just keep saying fujoshi want this, fujoshi want that. I was in the Komahina fandom. I don't remember seeing Komahina fans being fujoshi or reading yaoi. Funny enough, yaoi made me not care about that ship that much. Why would I care about a ship that I will get queerbaited on instead of reading the real queer shit?
Anyway, this has just made me glad I'm not in that fandom anymore, like, god. I will play the next game and never look at the people or what they have to say.

Also wtf these fans on about lol, there's barely anything forced upon in the games about komahina, the only specific moment is that half confession and that nagitos waking up anime if we're stretching it. The same shit logic should apply to sonia and gundam too in that case regarding shipping, they were on screentime for quite some time too and as you said, chiaki and hajime. And this is coming from someone who doesn't ship nagito with anyone.
Nagito hate is so forced for wrong reasons, his relationship isn't even main focus of him, even if he was straight or whatever, his role in the story would not change a single bit, he was an odd character with tragic backstory that shaped his thinking, who also had twisted way of doing things and the BEST trail. They just mad we love our precious mentally ill character even after all these years
right? The game didn't even confirm his sexuality. Well, there is a part where he ended up falling under Mikan's skirt, and he didn't even react, not even a blush, and since in that world he was dreaming about, he was giving his bad luck to himself and giving good luck to others, it means he thinks falling under Mikan's skirt is the worst luck; that supports the theory that he is gay, also (I think he is mikan X Hiyoko shipper why did he dream about Hiyoko being jalouse about mikan). But like, I don't think it's that big of a plot twist to get so mind-boggled about. His sexuality didn't mean anything in the game. And it was hinted it's not 100% confirmed. They are talking about it being surprising, like the guy was flirting with male characters left and right. Even Komahina fans weren't so focused on his sexuality. The only thing we have is Spike Chunsoft making some official art together here and there. Hinanami, on the other hand, got a whole-ass anime.
right? People don't like him because he is just attractive and a "male character." It's because he is the best-written character in the Danganronpa universe and the most complicated one. I don't know why people are so pissed at his popularity when it's the most character popularity that makes sense. I don't remember any male characters getting attention on DR1 or DR3. Like, I'm tired of people accusing women (fujo or any female, really) of being "thirsty for attractive queer male characters" when people actually love him just because his character is well written.
Also, I still think they won't make him "straight," and I still think they will make more fan service of the ship, since in the trailer, most of the time, Komaeda and Hinata are standing with each other; it's the first thing you see in the trailer. They are still dragging Komahina shippers down I don't know what those fans are dreaming about
Nagito hate is only justified in regards of the first trial, all his other actions has genuine reasoning to them, while twisted but yea. People angry about his popularity are literally just blind hater lol, it's not like others aren't popular either lol and it's not like this is the ONLY gay ship lmfao, there's lots of bl, gl and even straight couples so hating on Nagito for all this is just nonsense.

Yeah, I think I'm not going to visit the fandom anymore. I just wanted to see how the fandom is doing, and regretted it. I totally forgot how I was fighting with people on that fandom. Nanami is also super popular, and those people don't complain about her. Like, I understand why she is popular; her character is cute. Also, the most popular character in the first game was Kirigiri. Just ignore thise few users, overall the fandom seems chill now, i don't see much Nagito hate, but could be cause i just actively follow people or pages that stan him lol. Just do the same, no use spending time with people that like spreading hate on a character for no reason
