Yu yu hakusho, for impact. It kills me how no one talks abt this anymore It literally set the blueprint for the entire modern shounen genre including Naruto, bleach, etc. The dark tournament arc is not only one of the best tournament arcs in all of anime, but also influenced the trajectory of all other shounen tournament arcs after it, most notab......   2 reply

I am going to be so basic here, but 'Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood'. Mostly because of the nostalgia factor, but also because one of my first animated crushes was from this anime. the most influential anime to me is haikyuu. art, storytelling, execution, impact--10/10s across the board. it's not just a sports anime where a bunch of teenage boys kick a ball around hoping to win nationals. the story isn't even about WINNING. most of the cast don't become professional volleyball players after high school. but that's not failure......   reply
