The unemployment rate is dumb because they take into effect all areas, when in reality, some areas are different than others. It's what they do with inflation too, where they'll go like, omg the inflation rate is at 2%. I'm not unemployed (from the Netherlands btw), but I do have a friend in America who is really struggling to get a job bcs for some reason literally noone will hire her??? It's definitely BS and part of it is because people who make any amount of money are considered employed in calculating this statistic. Spend a few hours a week driving for doordash or something similar? You're employed. Do freelance commissions occasionally? You're self-employed. Doesn't matter if you don't have a full time job and you make pennie......   reply

Not American but I do follow BurbNBougie and Sir Hawk in YT. ABSOLUTELY the unemployment rate in US is total BS. Didn't Trump replaced the previous labour statistics head due to high unemployment rate like OP mentioned 15-20% to a guy related to the Project 2025?.
