Dream course over dream university.

Alam ko CETS season na, and if you’re in Grade 12 reading this, I know the pressure. I’ve been there, done that, and I’m so glad it’s over. Pero hindi ako magbibigay ng tips on how to pass your CETS since I unfortunately only passed 2 out of the 4 CETS I took, haha.

Pero siguro may dilemma yung iba sa inyo: dream course ba or dream university ang pipiliin?

For me, dream course ang kunin ninyo.

Mahirap ang kolehiyo, at mas mahirap kung hindi mo gusto yung course mo. Madaling bitawan ang bagay na hindi mo mahal, or something you never really envisioned yourself doing. Kapag ganun, madali kang makakahanap ng reason to give up.

Madaming din distractions, like comparing yourself every time na makikita mo sa social media na masaya yung friends mo sa courses nila. Meanwhile, ikaw nasa dream uni mo nga, pero hindi masaya sa course na pinili.

Wag kasi forda clout ang person.

Tandaan: 4–5 years lang tayo sa universities natin, pero yung course natin can affect the kind of jobs we’ll get after.

You might ask: “Ikaw, nakuha mo ba yung dream course or dream uni mo?”

Ang aking kasagutan ayyyyyy.....hindi po ateeeeee!

None. I didn’t get either, lol.

But life goes on. Pero every time I see someone wearing a lanyard from my dream uni sa LRT, parang “that should be me eh.” I actually passed the entrance exam, but my family just couldn’t afford the tuition fee. Tapos tumititig yung mata ko sa taong naka suot nung lanyard, baka isipin pa nila crush ko sila, hahahaha, yung ID nyo po kuya yung type ko, hindi kayo eme.

Akala ko noon end of the world na yun, pero nandito pa rin ako. Kaya if you’re in the same situation as me, kaya natin ‘to. We might not be super happy right now, and madaming distractions along the way, pero lagi nating tatandaan: the goal is to graduate.
