Lol Im in the medical field. And we always get causes like this in the uk. No it will not cause false positive. IT WILL CAUSE AN ACTUAL POSITIVE RESULT XD. Poppy seeds are literally a source for drugs. Opium is made from poppy seeds. ........Sober addict here!! YES! it will show up on your test (certain ones). Now, 15-20years ago the tests couldn't differentiate between the OPIATE/OPIOID or food ingredient. So, they have state of the art, whether its a Urinalysis, plasma or follicle tests and it can differentiate the outcome. With a urine test it'll come up POSITIVE for OPIATE......   reply

Not every drug it’s only true for opium, opioids and heroin but yeah lol they just contain trace amounts because they originate from the same plant. it’s such a trace amount but apparently it’s enough to show up in a drug test those things are sensitive af   reply

I believe if someone does such a test, they will ask what you eat and the person who tests you should be aware of such a bias. It would extremely irresponsible for them to not do this. It would also be extremely irresponsible for them to not double check you if you test positive for everything.   2 reply
