Does anyone else feel like they're still a child stuck in an adult body?
I'll be taking my licensure exam soon and after that I'll start to work, still I feel like I'm wearing someone else's skin. Peers who are the same age as me seem to have gotten their lives together whereas.... I'm still feeling stuck. I still have this kind of childish interests and hobbies, it feels kinda weird now but I still love doing it. It feels weird since it feels kind of shameful in comparison to others. I'm just looking someone who also feels the same way.
Yeah, many times I don’t feel my age, but at the end of the day I still hold down a job, pay my bills on time, so what does it matter if like childish things?
I think the issue is when people can’t differentiate between liking things that might be considered childish and actually being childish. reply
I'm almost 30 and people around me are getting married, buying houses etc while I still don't know what I'm doing with my life. I've been hyper independent all my life and don't have anyone to ask so yeah, I still feel like a kid. reply

no one has it together. those peers are struggling, you just can't see it. your parents, your grandparents, they're all just trying to make it day by day. this is as old as they've ever been, too. they don't know how to be 35 or 50 or 73 cuz each day is new for the person living it.

Don’t let anyone say your hobbies and interests are childish, it ain’t their business to judge. What matters is that it makes you happy and if it’s childish to be happy and would deny yourself just to be a miserable adult then what’s the point of living or motivation on doing work. I'm 23 and I'm literally still processing the fact that I'm over 18?? It really feels like yesterday, it stresses me out and also kind of saddens me how fast time seems to pass... 100%, i still feel like i'm 13 and every time i remember i'm not and i actually need to take my life seriously now i start spiraling a bit. i feel like everyone around me responds really well with change and growing up but i just feel stuck in the past reply
You are not alone. Thank you for bringing up this topic. I am in my 30s now. Also feeling so stuck since my peers are preparing for board exam and some do have families with children, and here I am, existing. wanted a break from the gruelsome internship and back to square one, being broke. hahaha

I'm in my 30s and let me tell youuuu, you will prob always feel at least a little bit like that to some extent. I'm guessing ur in ur late teens/early 20s, and that's a rough time bc you feel like ur supposed to be growing up and doing a bunch of important shit. In my experience, I notice people stop caring so much when they get older. Like whateve...... reply
