its not "purity culture" its called being fucking normal, im chill with "taboo" topics if they're handles correctly, such as being treated as actual trauma and NOT romanticized. it is NOT "exposure therapy", exposure therapy is meant to HELP you recognize your trauma, to cope properly with it, and how to get out of those situations. for example: if an abuse victim goes into exposure therapy, they are NOT told to romanticize or normalize their trauma; even in fiction. IF they are recommended to interact with such media it is NOT for those reasons; it is to recognize what is abusive.
