I dropped out! But I'm re-applying... so I guess it's worth it to me. Even getting a less "practical" degree like English still makes it easier to get a desk job or something mildly cushy. Hard labor is painful man;; and being a neet is lonely as shit. And lots of trades include tons of driving to new places and I hate driving. So... yeah I hope I ......   reply

Niche subject but to me art college/major is going in the shits. People are losing their jobs and it’s so difficult to get hired unless you know someone who know someone up there in the industry. Which was somewhat always the norm but where things are headed rn with AI I fear you’ll be needing way more then connections. To the point of sacrific......   2 reply

Yes, because we’re not nepo babies and we actually have to work our asses off to earn our degree to get a job. How to make your college life a bit better? Choose a course that YOU are genuinely interested in, not what your parents want, not what your friends are taking, and definitely not what your boyfriend/girlfriend is into. Be brave enough......   1 reply

Depends on where you are. I was an honors student in STEM that immediately went into university. Paid for it out of my own pocket along with my own bills. Do kind of regret how long it took to drop out and the money I wasted on it. I eventually dropped out vet school because I was so burnt out and it was hard supporting myself and my dog + giving m......   reply

Is it worth it? 1) do you have money? -> no: a) are you planning on studying something that will increase your base pay and earning potential? -> no: maybe not, if ur just going for fun only then maybe consider doing it later in life when you are more financially secure, coll......   reply

It depends for me, do you have passion on something and want to make it your profession or it's the only way to find a better job or want to do something in your life despite it punching you mentally and physically that could or could not help you in irl job situations? Yes. Do you hate it so much you'd give up already and might actually kill yours......   reply

I'm a Software Engineering major. For me, college has been worth it for two main reasons. First, I had no guidance or direction before joining, college gave me hands-on experience, exposure to different people and paths, and a clearer sense of where I want to go. Second, and this one's kinda personal, but I wanted that “engineer” title, mostly ......   reply

It's worth it if you pick the major that you TRULY like... Don't be like me gang, I chose Tourism and Hospitality Management but I skipped this year because of mental health issues and the high tuition fees. I could've chosen what I like which is art but I chose BSTM instead because of the practical jobs it offers. Now I'm stuck in a loop of mistak......   1 reply
