Okay, I might just be talking out of my ass here, but I feel like one of the reasons a lot of yaoi readers (most of them women) aren’t super into yuri is cause most yuri is written by men. Not all of it, obviously, but enough that you can kinda tell. The stories just don’t hit the same way yaoi does. It’s kinda like the difference between por......   1 reply

i wouldn't say its taken less seriously then yaoi, in fact i would say its the opposite. Take this with a grain of salt but in my personal experience, yuri content is often alot more mature and better written then most yaoi, and the characters in these stories arent only used as sex objects but actually allowed to explore themselves outside of the ......   reply

(Sometimes internalised misogyny can be too) Most Yaoi consumers are straight women or, at least, women who are somewhat attracted to men. Women in g......   1 reply

Come on guys don't act like this isn't really true, I mean genuinely look at most fandoms, always yaoi ships and alien stage, even though there's literally other couples ivantill is the most popular one ever. Barely the wlw ships get attention and don't even get me started on some people HARD on defending "they're just besties!" with like Wednesday......   1 reply

Sure it play a role especially in publishing stories but I think also there's just less of a market for Yuri in general and it's a less visible genre so the communities are smaller and nicher.   reply
