Okay, I might just be talking out of my ass here, but I feel like one of the reasons a lot of yaoi readers (most of them women) aren’t super into yuri is cause most yuri is written by men. Come on guys don't act like this isn't really true, I mean genuinely look at most fandoms, always yaoi ships and alien stage, even though there's literally other couples ivantill is the most popular one ever. I think it's not that hard to understand. I won't deny the misogyny issues within the sphere of Yaoi consumers but the primary reason why Yaoi is way more popular than Yuri has to do with attraction. Sure it play a role especially in publishing stories but I think also there's just less of a market for Yuri in general and it's a less visible genre so the communities are smaller and nicher.   reply
