I have a promotion interview today that I am being peer pressured in to doing.

I’m currently a supervisor at my job and a salary management position recently opened up. I’ve been a supervisor for about 3 years now and currently like the spot I’m in. My Senior Manager really pressured me in to applying for the position, which I ended up doing.

My application passed and now I have a THREE HOUR long interview (FML) today with 3 different high level managers and 1 HR rep. This interview was set a week ago and requires me to prepare beforehand.

Every single day, the head manager has been asking how my preparation is going and seeing if I’m ready for my interview. News of my interview has spread to my entire section and so many people keep asking me about it every day. I feel so much pressure that it’s making me nauseous and depressed. I’ve been procrastinating with the preparation the entire time and barely started working on it now. Despite this, I’ve lied to their face and said the preparation is going well and that I’m ready and confident for my interview.

To be honest, I am pretty mentally unstable and have BPD which takes a huge toll on me and requires a lot of energy for me to mask and maintain my symptoms. I am confident that I can get this role and can excel, but I know that it will affect my mental health even more. This is why I have been avoiding promotion and trying to stay at my current level.

The point of my posting this is to get it off my chest and hopefully get a few encouragements. LOL
I hate being an adult so much. I wish I could have someone support me for the rest of my life while I be a shut-in NEET.
