Yes, it gets better, you alao get stronger. I too wass too sheltered by my mother (father died) and stuff, but as you take every opportunity that life gives you, your circle starts growing bigger and you grow more confident and determinated. Your life improves when you decide to improve it or are forced into it. Life doesn't get better. Either you decide to mold it to your preferences or it stays as is. it’s def a struggle but YES it does get better. i highly recommend setting a goal for yourself to move out from your parents place if they’re so controlling - just working towards that goal can be hopeful and while living on your own comes with its own struggles, it’s SO NICE to be away from strict parents and have the freedom to take care of......   reply

As someone who is 22, tldr yeah it does eventually get better. I didn't think I'd reach age 18, let alone surpass it. So, I ended up at some 3rd rate vocational school which I barely finished, all my friends moved away and most cut contact with me while I was working odd jobs here and there. I am close to 30 and pursuing further education. Let me tell ya it is a mental struggle when dealing with failure and setbacks. Finding something small everyday that makes you happy wether that is getting out of bed, having a snack, changing clothes - can push you forward. The more aggressive way to keep going is PURE SPITE!
