You all can hate me for this but lets be real the whole "pronouns are cringe" is not because of the concept itself, but because of how far some people take it. Tbh, most of us are totally fine with using "he," "she," or "they" for someone. That's just common stuff. The cringe starts when they use shits like xer/xers,zio/zios, pus/sies and othershits they made up as pronouns. It just feels like a performance, you know? I mean at that point, it stops feeling like a genuine request for respect and more like someone is just trying to be difficult or make a political statement through pure absurdity. It's that forced, attention-seeking vibe that makes this whole thing feels ridiculous and, really feels like it undermines the people who have legitimate reasons for asking to be called "they" and shits
