Am I too woke?
Okay so, I’ve been on this site for god knows how long. I’ve read tons of manga, manhwa, manhua, and novels — I’m not illiterate. I’ve even published stuff on AO3.
What I don’t get is: why do so many people just forget about the victims of SA in BL and yaoi?
I’ve come across so many works that are cute, fluffy, and funny on the surface. But if you look closely at the details, there’s clear SA in there. And the comment section is just… so forgetting... Like, sure, maybe it’s “needed for the plot,” but is it really necessary?
And when you actually point it out, people start blaming the victim instead. Like… are we even reading the same story??
The amount of SA added is always sometimes unnecessary like they're being glorified or something. Sometimes I just think that maybe it's like awareness thing like making me realized both women and men get sexualized and SA. But it's also unnecessary because not everyone in your life woulda face the same thing. They could also learn there is SA, con......
