Look at other used market prices for said object and compare them (don't tell seller) you don't want to scare the seller into immediately shutting you down, if you're paying shipping plus the objects price mention that to see if they can cut you a deal.
You could always ask, the worse they can say is no, maybe start with asking for $40 off and wor......
