OMG YES IT WAS MY FIRST BL TOO, I ALSO WATCHED IT WHEN I WAS 11 It was mentioned by my friend who I was talking about anime with when I was 11. So my gay weeb ass got really excited that a gay anime existed and went home to watch it right away. Although I did watch Kiss Him, Not Me! Before that.
