My cousin is indirectly murdering my grandma with intent who do I talk to
I don’t think I posted in the right subreddit so I’m posting here because I’m desperate because I didn’t get answers
This took place in United States
I think it falls under corrosion and manipulation and elder abuse is there anything I can do? I already contacted aps but they haven’t done anything I want them to arrest her and throw that bitch in jail but I was told by an attorney that my case is weak and I couldn’t be guaranteed due to lack of physical evidence i was SO PISSED OFF
They moved her to the other side of the country and isolated her they thought she was dying and insisted on taking her ( no she wasn’t she just twisted an ankle)
she was against it first and I was gonna move in with her to help her take her to her dr appointments and just help her shop and make dinner and stuff while she heels until my cousin talked to her suddenly she’s on board moving with them forever
I have no idea what they said but they’re basically trying to make her die faster so they can snatch a nonexistent inheritance, all she has is her house, clothes and memories which they’re trying to steal, they already foreclosed her house in their name even if we got her back she has nowhere to go now how dare you exploit a holocaust survivor that is digusting
Its literally been a month and a half and apparently she’s on hospice now and actually dying WTF HAPPENED she was doing great for an elderly women and now according to them she’s on hospice and is going on her make a wish “ last trip” to Hawaii next week and I quote “ if she dies in Hawaii we can take care of the ashes for you” disgusting. which she obviously didn’t chose this trip because she hates Hawaii for some reason( idk why) but my cousin wants to move there she would’ve 100% chosen her German hometown even if that plane ride is too much, if she’s on hospice she shouldn’t even be going to Hawaii
, I spoke to her in German over the phone since my cousin Listens in on our conversions because literally did that and she called my dad to ask what we’re chatting about bitch that’s your fault for not learning but she was telling me my cousin took away her medications and isn’t taking care of her properly, they take her on trips even though she’s constantly tired, I think they’re 100% trying to kill her
my cousin sends my parents these handwritten cards making it sound like she’s the one writing them and how happy she is there and never wants to leave but it’s really out of character she also can’t write in English so it just comes off as really creepy
Idk this is frustrating i don’t know what to do I want my cousin to be shot at and thrown in prison for treating a Survivor the way she is, if I didn’t live on the other side of the country I would’ve been on national news by now

it sounds sus and it is hard when she's far away from you. is there any way you can have her come live with you at all? The best thing is for her to be near you in some way so that you can truly see what's going on and manage it. All I know is that when an elderly gets sick (usually pneumonia), or has a fall, it is easy to decline very quickly, which could explain that part maybe.

Has any police officer or official tried to do a welfare check on your grandma? I feel like that should be possible and definitely should be done. There’s gotta be something like her medication being hidden or her abnormal decline in condition that can be used as evidence. Do your parents know about what’s going on and what your grandma said to you over the phone? They should be doing something, idk why they wouldn’t be taking care of her instead. Maybe try calling your grandma again while recording the call and talk to her in German about how she’s doing? It’s definitely neglect at the very least, that’s awful.
I thought that’s what APS was going to do but they didn’t do anything for some reason I was lowkey pissed should I file an actual police report in their state or my state?

I have no idea what impression I gave off but I’m a young adult in college I live alone to be closer to school, my parents live about 45 mins away since they live in the countryside my parents have their own lives I just happened to live closer to grandma since she lives in town too so I was gonna help her out
yes they’re aware they’re also pissed the attorney was actually my dads idea I wish they did more like physically stopping my cousin from seeing her also Thanks I’ll def look into that to see if my cousin lives in a one party consent state so I can gather evidence
I would definitely file a police report, idk which state you would do it in though. This is a situation where police should 100% be able to do a welfare check, I’m shocked that no one did when you contacted ABS. I would also try to get your parents to fight to get evidence to help your grandma as well so that officials will hopefully take the situation more seriously
