If the cover is ml groping the unwilling mc from behind yk the story is ass. (Yes ik im judging a book by its cover but this has literally never failed me) Anyways uhhh shameless plug for my list of bls w actually good plots :3 https://www.mangago.me/home/mangalist/2850223/ Even from my list above 90% of them came out > 2 years ago. It’s kinda......   reply

I haven't really been having issues finding good new manga, but I've definitely been incredibly uninterested in manhwa recently. They all just reuse the same dynamics and it's boring and I hate it. Or they're all toxic, or fake deep, or have way too much smut, or all of the above. Every time I open a new bl manhwa and it immediately starts with a......   2 reply

agree. i often times find myself reading bls that are completed 5-7 years ago. only a couple new ones caught my attention, most are just recycled plots and cliche, mostly bland characters. i have a lot more left to say but i suck at explaining/expressing myself good lord.   1 reply

You think BL readers have it tough? Imagine being a GL enjoyer; only crap that gets uploaded every 3 months is either: a) fetishised lesbians for the male gaze b) gooner porn featuring high-schoolers c) actually good GLs that get updated only once in a blue moon Even if most of BLs are crap/generic these days, you get at least 10 new BLs a week, ......   2 reply

And the wild part? Even when something tries to be different, it still somehow circles back to the usual beats. It’s not that BL as a whole is bad; it’s just stuck in this safe zone where nobody wants to take risks. So yeah, the stagnation is real. Trust me, you’re not feeling this alone. The genre isn’t stale because it can’t grow it’......   reply

I have learned if someone asks this question, go snoop into their profile to see which kind of BL they consume. "BL is formulaic" because these are the kind of BLs that you are consuming. They are all with the same plot and characters. Improve your list.   3 reply

I thought I was the only one feeling that way. Well yeah, the new ones are like the same repetition of plot. I can't find anything that interests me.... Been re reading the old ones on a repeat process.   reply

Sigh....I think it's our sign to just get empl*yed n stop reading bls. But lwk. Nowadays like everyone wants their comic to blow up like let's say lost in the clouds or jinks. And they would purposely create 80% similar stories in their own and include stuff like the red flags or Grapists just for it to blow up and guess what? It does w both the......   reply

Oversaturation of a genre causes staleness. Everybody wants to make a bag out of creating bls and since fujos eat up anything as long it has two guys fucking in it people know they don't actually have to put effort into writing a story   reply

I know exactly how you feel. Sometimes I feel like its burnout or nostalgia effect but I also really feel like a fisherman who's only reeling in 3 tunas a month(thats generous to say even). Most of the BLs I'm currently invested in started years ago, and the more recent ones are really just because they have mpreg. I just went through 19 pages fr......   reply
