Lowkey making songs is harder than i thought it'd be

I've written two songs so far, im not rlly happy with my first one cause its too... Longing. With the way it was sung tbh but im proud of the 2nd one, i think i found my style which is indie rock, specifically slow-ish ones like billie eilish style. My 2nd song "Lifeline" was inspired from her birds of a feather, i rewrote the song like 17 times. I tried at first going mitski or laufey, but then their style was hard to mimick cause even though their words are like random it makes sense but in a way it rhymes too. It fits very well.

Also i dont rlly plan to release some of these music, I've seen some small artists get random copyright stuff cause they accidentally sampled another song or is accused of copying. Being forced to alter their music entirely. I'm afraid of that happening.
