Do you guys think you’re entitled to read manga illegally?
I’ve been seeing a couple of questions and answers recently about people saying they’re justified in reading manga illegally, because they’re broke. And you have cases of illegal readers proudly sharing illegal screenshots of mangas with the authors, probably because they see no wrong with it.
I wanna know if you guys think that way, or if you’re like me: I know I’m a shitty person for illegally reading, but I do it anyway and try to be discreet (keeping discussions to just mangago).
Imo saying you’re not wrong for pirating manga is a fuckload of mental gymnastics, you can always just NOT read it. You’re fucking up someone’s livelihood and it’s not like manga artists earn a shit ton - the least you can do is admit that instead of trying so hard not to proce you aren’t a bad person and the author somehow owes you their work. Like I’m a broke college student who lived out of my car for two years, never once did I think “ohh yeahhh I am so entitled to read manga illegally, it’s my god given right”
Personally I do think I'm entitled to read manga illegally and it is my god given right. I actually live near a bunch of authors that became homeless because too many people pirated their stories and every time I pass them I laugh and show them my mangago account. That makes them cry so much I'm able to power my own personal hydro generator just us......
